I was a patient at Mercy One Elkader Medical Center for skilled care for two weeks while I healed from a broken femur. Brandy was my nurse for a majority of that time. Her attitude was positive and caring every time she entered my room. When I heard her voice, my day was brightened! My wife was impressed with the compassion she showed to both of us.
Brandy's professionalism was evident in every aspect of her duties, from being sure she was administering the correct medications to properly assisting me from bed to wheelchair and more, including her careful instructions when I was discharged.
Brandy exemplifies what the nursing profession is meant to be, and what we have come to expect at Mercy One Elkader Medical Center. Any patient is fortunate to have her assigned to their care. And, she does CARE!
***
Brandy is very concerned, compassionate and caring with her patients. These 3 C's of Caring, Compassion, and Concern are behavioral traits that are not learned. As nurses, we are blessed with these as a gift and incorporate them into our Nursing Practice of Care Delivery.
***
Brandy makes a difference each and every day for the patients, families, and staff. Her care, concern, and compassion is an innate behavior, which is her art and science of practicing nursing and care delivery for our patients.
