We first met Maddy when my husband had a partial removal of his kidney and removal of a cancerous growth earlier that day. He had much pain and nausea. He asked me to stay with him all night. Maddy was our nurse all 4 nights. From the moment we met her we knew she was an exceptional nurse - and person! She exhibited confidence, intelligence, high energy, compassion, kindness, and leadership. My husband needed a lot of care. She gave 500% night after night. Any worries, concerns or questions we proposed to her, she continually offered options, ideas, and tips to help with his well-being. She was so kind to us and continually checked with me to see if I was comfortable or needed anything. Maddy exhibited great attention to detail. She always seemed to be two steps ahead of any issue that arose. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Maddy. We believe she is the most outstanding nurse we have ever had through my husband's multiple surgeries. She is amazing, and we are sure, will continue to make a difference each and every day for many patients at St. Vincent Medical Center.
