I live in Washington State and was called by my stepmom and sister to come to San Diego right away. Our Dad was in ICU and coded, needed CPR on 2 occasions 3 hours apart. Jonel performed the CPR and revived our dad. I had the pleasure of meeting Jonel after sleeping in the waiting room after arriving off the plane. Jonel's level of patient care, family support, professionalism and bedside manner were impeccable!!! He informed the patient (although he was not verbal but understood everything at the moment) about what he was doing. Beautiful wound care!! Took time for little exams such as adjusting the pillow to the "cool side". Made Dad feel very important the way he spoke each time with respect, dignity and still a person, not just another "ill patient". Jonel was very professional with a good bedside manner, and his tender warmth really shined. This man loves what he does and it shows!! When I head back to Washington I will feel so relieved to know that Kaiser is in charge of my dad's care. People like Jonel made an impression. He saved my dad's life twice, and went the extra mile in every way was truly special.
