Jamie has only been with Hospice for a year. She delivers care to our patients as an On-Call RN. Nights can often be a scary and lonely time for patients and families. Jamie reaches out to families that she been asked to visit with a cheerful voice beginning to elevate their fears from her first "hello". She does an excellent job of triaging symptoms to help make patients more comfortable in a timely manner. She educates families on how to manage symptoms and to provide care. She often spends extra time providing personal care and freshening the patient up before sleep.
Jamie provides updates to Extended Hours staff and patients' Case Managers regarding her visits. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that her patient is comfortable and cared for. Jamie is a good listener; we have had multiple requests from patients and families that she has visited for her to be their Case Manager. She truly is an advocate for the dying patient and their family.
