Mary is incredibly organized with training staff. Yearly, we have a skills day which she organizes, as well as demonstrates and provides hands-on use of endoscopy equipment for each staffer. Mary is an excellent resource for procedure and application. She is also an active member and lecturer at the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA). She has also guided and successfully assisted four nurses to certification! Mary encourages and grows each of her staffers' knowledge. She emphasizes the importance that each patient has an excellent experience, and our Press Ganey results exemplify this. Mary informs staff with bulletin boards instructing us how we compare to national statistics. Mary has also initiated and oversees endoscopy scope testing to ensure optimum patient safety.
