This is my third patient with Becky that she has gone above and beyond to educate the family, assist overwhelmed staff and family members, and most importantly, provide exceptional patient care and advocacy. Today she was the charge nurse and took the time to help educate the nurse caring for my patient. She advocated for hospice and comfort measures in a patient that was clearly struggling with symptom management whilst the family was taking their time to make the comfort care decision.
Becky made the family comfortable and brought chairs and food. She assisted with medication management without rushing or alarming the family. She felt confident enough to call me and the attending frequently for any needs for the patient and family while handling a discharge, bed placement issue, and combative patient.
