Lindsey has received numerous DAISY Award nominations over the past year. The sheer number of nominations demonstrates that Lindsey consistently provides her patients with exceptional nursing care. One of her patients wrote the following letter that sums up what all of her patients say about her.
"I would like to take this opportunity to nominate your nurse Lindsey on the sixth floor for the DAISY Award, for her unwavering, compassionate and skilled nursing care during my two hospitalizations at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. My first encounter with Lindsey was when I was admitted with an extreme case of C-diff. This was humiliating, disgusting and debilitating, which had me in a state of total dependence. Throughout several days of interacting with her under such negative and traumatic circumstances, she was consistently helpful and her disposition was always positive, skilled, cheerful and helpful. I was discharged thinking that my time at St Joe's was over. Unfortunately, I was readmitted weeks later with a ruptured disc.
Once again, I found myself on the 6th floor with Lindsey as my nurse for several days. Once again, her care was exemplary and consistently of the highest quality. I always felt the most secure, relaxed and well cared for when she was assigned to my room and actually requested her when possible because I felt so confident in her ability to perform on my behalf at the highest level.
I have found that your nursing and care staff on the 6th floor are for the most part, simply excellent, caring and helpful people but Lindsey stands out even among this very capable group. I sincerely hope that this recommendation can give her the recognition she so richly deserves."
