I'd like to take some time to send professional kudos to one of your nurses, Sarah, for a job well done. Actually, there are so many wonderful nurses on that unit that I wish I could nominate them all. However, there was more patient contact with Sarah. Here is the story that reflects the extra mile Sarah goes to ensure excellent patient care.
My husband, S, and I were scheduled for a birth class on Saturday. S had to go alone and was going to debrief me later as I was on bed rest, due to PPROM. To my surprise, Sarah took the class to my room since S was the only one who showed up. As a first-time mom and dad to twin boys, this meant a lot to us.
Sarah was very attentive to our questions and anxieties. We were very pleased with her caring outstanding service that day and again when she was my L&D nurse, and on the special day our boys were born in the OR, Sarah was coaching and cheering me along.
At a point where I thought I couldn't push anymore, Sarah used a technique with a sheet as she coached me through to see our first-born! Thanks to Sarah!
