Grace was working on the chemical dependency unit and had received multiple admissions in a short time. They got 4 admissions within one hour. Grace remained calm and continued to do everything with a smile. She reached out for help when she needed to and made all the patients feel comfortable. With each new admission, she took her time, calmly asked them their assessment questions and reassured them that they were in a safe place where they could safely detox.
Grace is truly an asset to all the patients and staff at the BMC. I always hear patients raving about the friendly nurse they had. Grace has gone through some hardship with the death of her family member, but she never let that affect her work at the BMC. She has remained compassionate, caring, and truly exemplifies the values of Loma Linda.
On a day where they were literally flooded with admissions, Grace remained calm and all the patients remained safe. Everyone received their complete assessments, medications, and felt comfortable about the new journey they had to take in the chemical dependency unit.
