Amber was a wonderful night nurse. By the time she came in, my father was very heavily sedated in a medically induced coma, and she still talked to him like he was awake and talking back. We had the luck to have her both of the nights we were in the hospital, and she was so great with not only my dad but my brother and me and the little bit she saw our mother as well.
Amber was always offering us blankets or pillows and being straight with us about what was going on. The second night Amber came in, her first words were "Hi, I'm back," because she remembered me, and I wasn't even the patient. She was caring, positive and kind and had no problems answering questions and talking to us.
She was forever asking us, the family, if we needed anything and to come to get her if we even thought of something. Amber was super responsive and was so helpful to have through the situation. She even told me when she left that last night that she "hoped to see us when I come in tonight." While that didn't happen, she was wonderful to have known in that time.
