Yolanda was nominated by a young patient's family for the extraordinary care she has provided for their son. This now 2-year-old boy has required home care since he was only 2 months old after being discharged from the NICU at a hospital in Virginia. The family had gone through a series of home care nurses in Virginia, and none were up to their standards of what they needed for their son's care. They eventually moved back to Michigan to have some familial support, at which time they were introduced to HealthCall. Yolanda was the first nurse they interviewed and she was quickly deemed to be a perfect match. As a relatively new LPN, Yolanda was nervous about the care plan, but she worked side-by-side with the patient's mother to become proficient in all that needed to be done. The patient's parents have very precise procedures and standards that they follow in their son's care, which they wanted continued by their home care nurse. Yolanda was very open to learning everything that needed to be done and is an extraordinary caregiver. The patient's mother shared that Yolanda is always timely, an expert in her care, always finds something more to do for added cleanliness of the environment when her work is caught up, and has truly become part of their family.
