I came from the ICU not knowing what to expect. Maureen met me and my family in the hallway and immediately helped put our fears and worries to rest. She explained step by step the process of settling me into the floor. The way she interacted with my family was special to me. She really cared and we were all more calm and relaxed for it. We were able to settle into things once the initial admitting was over. Maureen never made me feel second to anything else that was happening. She talked to me about my recent troubles with alcohol dependence, and made me feel like I could really step up to my problems with confidence. She never talked down to me in any way, and always made me feel like I was her only patient. Every nurse on the floor was a pleasure to be around, and I mean that with all sincerity. My care was top notch, but Maureen stood out from all that.
