Eryn is an extraordinary nurse. She always takes time to teach those around her. She is one of our shining stars when it comes to precepting and retention in the PICU. She works hard to help coordinate and plan events for our staff. This is no easy task with a unit that is growing like ours is and she does this all with a smile on her face. Parents love her and patients ask to have her back! She frequently goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Recently, she took care of a precious little girl with cancer. This little girl loved fashion and all things that were covered in glitter. She was a girly girl through and through. Eryn stayed by the family's side and took care of her for three days. She stayed with the family through a heart wrenching care conference and then the family decided that they wanted their daughter to suffer no longer. Eryn had worked her three shifts, but did not want the family to have to go through this process with an unfamiliar face. She came in on her day off and guided them through their worst nightmare of losing their child. Eryn stayed with them and made sure every question was answered, every need was met, and made sure their visitors were taken care of as well.
This family will never forget the grace, love, and compassion that Eryn Miller showed them as they said good-bye to their little princess.
