It started about three years ago. I was sick at the time; Susan was my very caring, devoted and dependable nurse. I have been in quite a bit with COPD and she has never had a bad day. She always has a sweet word and kindness for all her patients and co-workers. When I see her all I can do is go up and hug her and cry. She has made a difference in my life. She knows I am going to Blue Ridge Hospice and she is right there with me, talking to me about it, reassuring me. I know I am coming to the end of my life, but it is nice to know people like her will keep on caring for others. She is a very special nurse and deserves this award more than anyone I know.
