My wound was 16" long across my lower waist from surgery to remove a very large seroma. My wife and I drove up 3 times a week to St. Luke's from Lake Geneva to get the dressings changed as part of the wound VAC healing process. From the moment we met Karen on our 3rd visit everything changed. Her caring, concern and great nursing skills made me feel so very special. She took the time to take my tape off with great care. She came up with great ideas to repair the skin around the wound that was already damaged by tape. She worked with me to find the best place to put the drain tube on my wound to make it comfortable for me to sit without it poking me in the stomach. She always took the time to tape the area very tight and secure so the wound VAC would operate smoothly. Her dedication to making things better for me gave me great comfort that everything was going to be fine. For all future visits, we always made sure to ask at the front counter for her. Thanks to her great nursing skills and attention to every detail I have come a long way in the healing process over these past 5 weeks.
