My dad was a patient on 4 North after an accident involving a lawn mower. He had a facial fracture which caused him to lose six teeth, a concussion and multiple lacerations over his face. He was transferred from TNU to 4 North and as soon as he arrived on 4 North he began vomiting. His nurse was Brooke and she immediately called his physician and got orders for medication. His first three hours on 4 North Brooke was in his room and only left the room to gather supplies or medication. My dad tends to get anxious when it comes to medical problems and she kept him calm and reassured him. This is only one of many reasons why we loved Brooke!

It has been over a year since the accident. When we talk about the week he spent in the hospital he still talks about his "third favorite nurse". She would probably be his favorite nurse, except my sister and I are both nurses. I strive to be the type of nurse Brooke is and I hope I can impact my patient's lives in the same way that she impacted my dad's.
