Sadie was my guardian angel. While walking to work from the North/South garage, I fell down concreate steps and broke my arm and dislocated my elbow. Because of bad knees, I could not get up. Sadie was on her way home after her night shift. She saw me face-planted on the cement and came to my aid, got help from the E.D. and stayed with me until help came. She was such a calming, soothing presence. She stayed with me for 20-30 minutes. She is obviously in the right profession, helping others. In the time she spent with me, she could have already driven home and been asleep! St. Luke's is fortunate to have her. She certainly went the extra mile. My understanding is that Sadie is a fairly new graduate. I would love to see her acknowledged early in her career. You can teach people technical skills, but caring and compassion come from the heart. Sadie has a lot of years ahead to make a difference in patients'' lives.
