I had surgery at your hospital and was admitted for one night of observation. I was so impressed with the level of care, that I felt I needed to write. I was admitted to the 3rd floor. The nurses and staff were warm and welcoming, but one nurse, in particular, was especially competent and caring. Courtney Truscott, assigned to me for the 7p-7a shift, is by far one of the most caring, warm, professional and kind nursing professionals I've ever encountered. From her introduction to her encouraging farewell, she displayed superior knowledge and answered all my questions and concerns. Courtney Truscott went the extra mile to see to my comfort. I'd had foot surgery and my care was complicated by the need to protect my foot. She and the other nurses took great care to make sure there were no mishaps.
When helping me to the bathroom, Courtney Truscott noticed I had betadine on my back. She promptly cleaned the area and asked if I'd like cream on my back. I'd had a bad headache all day and was still suffering with it. Courtney massaged my neck and shoulders which brought much relief.
I was hooked up to a monitor to check my breathing while I slept. She went out of her way to quickly turn off the alarm in hopes of minimal disruption to my sleep. Courtney was prompt in dispensing my pain meds and in response to my calls for a bathroom break.
While maintaining her professional demeanor, she still managed to be friendly, warm and kind. She was, simply, the best nurse I've ever encountered. She took every request in stride and was unruffled and confident. I've been hospitalized many times over my life, and have had experiences with family members, but never have I encountered such a lovely and competent nurse. She took the time to ensure I was comfortable and that I got some rest. She set up the tranquility videos that I found so comforting and offered aromatherapy. I can't say enough about Courtney. She's quite a gem and truly an excellent representative of your staff. She told me she teaches nursing students. These students are truly fortunate to sit under her tutelage.
