My mom came into the hospital very ill and with dementia. She was struggling horribly. She just wanted to die and kept pulling her oxygen out and was very restless for 3 days. I kept asking about her pain meds and all the other nurses just said only as needed and I explained to them she was taking them every 6 hours at home for pain. I showed them different actions my mom was doing and they just shrugged it off. I explained this to Katlynn and when she saw my mom squeezing her toes, lips, and jaw, she concluded that it meant my mom was in pain. Well thank God for Katlynn! She sat with me and then took action right away and called docs and got things going and was just so great about doing all she could for my mom. Since then my mom's oxygen is lower and she's doing so much better - she stays up and talks. If not for the care and concerned actions of Katlynn my mother wouldn't have made the turnaround she has. She wanted to give up and just die. Katlynn is such an asset to the hospital. You need more like her. Katlynn was the light we needed while we were in a dark place.
