My mother was on the 5th floor for a week. As not only my mother's daily caregiver at home as well as being an only child, I normally stay both day and nights while she is in the hospital to calm her nerves. This time during her stay my mind was put at ease as my mother was completely comfortable with her nurse, Georgia.
When asked questions whether it was about meds given or medical procedures, Georgia was always great with her explanations. Never did I or my mother feel rushed or not being understood by her as she always came into my mother's room be it day or night always with a smile. When asked questions she was thorough, asked if not only my mother but anyone in the room needed anything and any request was said as a "Great Question, if I don't know, I will definitely find out for you and be right back." I had no quandaries as to if my mother was not being properly cared for and felt so comfortable that I was able to go home at night and sleep well.
Georgia is a total and wonderful compliment to the nursing staff of not only the 5th floor but Medical City. She was happy to give me updates of the days and night's events and even asked my mother if she was confused about any care she received. Thank you again, Miss Georgia. You've made a wonderful lasting impression on my family.
