I was sent down to the ER as a Code S, this left the floor short staffed unexpectedly. Caitlyn took over care for two of my patients which put her at 7 patients. Then at 11 pm, I was admitted to the floor.
Caitlyn was my nurse and took exceptional care of me. I was told later about how chaotic and stressful the unit was after I went to the ED, but I would have never known this by the way Caitlyn greeted and took care of me. She never once made me feel as though she was stressed out and too busy for me. It was a scary time for me, and she made it a pleasant experience while also supporting the unit without complaint in a time of need. She's an extraordinary nurse and went above and beyond for me and for her unit!

Caitlyn was our night nurse on the 5th floor. Caitlyn followed the protocol perfectly for making decisions on administering heparin and warfarin. When trying to draw blood, my veins sometimes rolled, and she was very patient. Kind and always got the job done. Her "way of being" was always friendly and caring. She listened with her heart as well as her ears!

I only saw Caitlyn for a little while in the evenings and in the mornings when I came back, but even in that short time, she won my heart. I left each evening with a smile knowing my husband would be well cared for by Caitlyn.
