I was a patient in the SICU, I had lung nodule removed and had an IV and drainage tube on the right side. Jenni was my nurse 3 of the days I was there. Jenni was so caring and thoughtful! She knew I liked coffee (from our many cheerful conversations) and would check and see if I wanted any before and after the kitchen closed. I love her for that!
She checked on me often and I never felt like she was rushed even though she had a lot of patients to care for. When I would tell, her she didn't have to wait on me she would always say with a smile it is my pleasure. WOW, not it is not my job! Such a wonderfully passionate, empathetic lady. She was professional but demonstrated skill a sense of humor and put my privacy and dignity first. When I needed to use the bathroom, shower, change gowns, my drainage tubes dressings, removing the catheter, etc. I felt human, comfortable, and like I really mattered to her, every time she came in. She checked on all her patients the same way. I know because I was walking the halls with my family by the 3rd day and saw her in action in the rooms. She even cheered me on knowing I wanted to go home soon. She was friendly and helped me laugh which was the best medicine ever! A reassuring smiling positive lady.
