We came to the hospital with an infection that grew into a MONSTER! For the first time in my life, I was hearing intimidating medical terms and learning PICC line care and administration for my child; and I was scared out of my mind. While I am educated, I felt very insecure about my ability to properly handle my child's care on my own, until I had the pleasure to meet Christine. She not only explained every step by step process, but she demonstrated and talked me through practicing on my own. Her knowledge was unbelievable! She had me watch videos and read about proper care of the PICC line, but honestly, I felt like all the information was repeating itself. She covered all bases, including some "what if" situations. On discharge day, I felt like I was a nurse myself (LOL). My confidence was through the roof, and when my home care nurse arrived, I was finishing her statements because I was well trained by a GREAT teacher. Not only was she GREAT with teaching me, but she was GREAT with taking proper care of my son. I had to leave to handle some errands before discharge, and I left with ease knowing my child was in the best hands! I will be forever grateful.
