Dana has been a part of the trauma team for over 8 years, in that time she continues to prove her commitment and compassion to our trauma patients. Recently we had two elderly trauma patients who had been in a car accident. Both injured significantly and had no family other than each other to care for themselves. Dana volunteered to fly these two patients back to their home in California and help them get set up in their home with their new assistive devices. She assisted them while on the airplane making sure they made their connecting flight (one patient had to be in a wheelchair) and when they got home, she assisted them in making sure they had their prescriptions filled correctly. She assisted them in making sure they made their follow up appointments and that they had fresh food in their home for meals. Dana did all of this on her days off between shifts. She truly exemplifies the caring spirit of St. Mary's. She truly only wants to provide the best care for our patients and continues to advocate for them on a daily basis. It is an honor to work with such a caring individual.
