Nicole's services to me and my family were so above and beyond what was expected. It was clear from the moment she entered the room that her commitment to me was unmatched; she advocated for me the entire 20 hours of labor and 4 hours of pushing. When her charge nurse finally made her take a break, I'm pretty sure she downed her meal as fast as possible so she could return to me.
My husband was in another state when I first went into labor. Nicole knew that I wanted to do everything I could to hold off from pushing until he arrived. She clearly communicated my needs to the OB and staff, kept me comfortable during the waiting period, and gave me a few minutes to reunite with my husband once he arrived. I hadn't seen him in about 5 weeks. Nicole tidied up my room, helped me find my Chapstick, re-fluffed my pillows, and set up a chair for my husband to sit at my bedside.
After 4 hours of pushing, I ended up needing a c-section. Both my husband and I were a nervous wreck going into the OR - Nicole frequently checked on me and him in a way that made us feel safe and taken care of, while doing her job in surgery. I think about Nicole every day. Whenever I drive by the hospital, I do everything in my power to not pull over to run in and give her a hug. She made a lifelong impact on our hearts and could not be more thankful for who she is/was for us on delivery day!
