Ansen provided excellent care for my husband as I first saw him in the recovery stage after a pacemaker was implanted. He noticed and worked quickly when my husband wasn't breathing as deeply as he should. He asked the right questions and gave him his inhaler for asthma. He then gave medicine in his IV to help him breathe easier. He then gave 2 Tylenol for pain. He monitored him extra closely and answered my questions quickly. Whenever he had to help another patient, he assured us he would not be gone long. He made sure we met another nurse when he had to go to lunch. He was extremely encouraging.
Upon preparing for our departure home, he was extremely caring and detailed about the next steps and when to become concerned as we live an hour away from Providence. He was very thorough and compassionate. When we had a concern about continuing medication, he called the surgeon for us and later told us his recommendation by phone.
Ansen is the nurse who noticed blood begin to pool up under the skin and contacted the doctor immediately. He had a heavyweight packet on him. Ansen emphasized what to look for if such blood built up again after discharge. He personally heavily taped my husband's chest, providing the pressure as we departed. He was so positive during the whole afternoon and caring as we departed. We were blessed.
