On Sunday I had the distinct privilege of meeting a very special nurse named Lindsay. She was special because she was MY nurse. She was assigned to take care of ME and take care of me she did! The day before I met my Lindsay, I had a traumatic experience when I fell through the glass shower door at our resort. I was cut, bruised, and severely banged up. My Lindsay started working her nurse magic on me as soon as we met. No job was too demeaning; no job was too degrading.
My Lindsay tackled it all. When she decided I needed a shower to remove hundreds of glass shards from my mangled body, she all but got into the shower with me. She scrubbed my hair and body and rinsed as she worked. We were both worn out when the ordeal ended. For the next two days, Lindsay worked diligently making me somewhat human again. While working with all her other patients, she managed to transform me. Lindsay became not only my nurse, she became my friend. On the last night I was to see my nurse friend, she worked late to compensate for all the time she had spent with me.
When I say someone went over and beyond what was necessary, I will always think of Lindsay. I hope your hospital is aware of the treasure you have in this nurse and what an asset she is to your facility.
