An ICU patient was pending intubation and Christina came in to examine and explain the process/procedure with her. She was very thoughtful and compassionate in her approach, demeanor, and tone, reassuring the patient that she would be well taken care of and assuaging her fears.
This was not the first time I've seen Christina do this, it's just the first time I've entered it. It's very nice to see the softer side in the clinical setting, and how something so routine in that environment can be explained with the sensitivity of knowing this is scary for the patient. I could see the patient's expression change for the better as she spoke to her.
