There is not enough space on this nomination form to explain fully why Louise is a DAISY Nurse. This is my third attempt to put it into words! I've known Louise throughout all of my 3 pregnancies. She has always gone above and beyond to make herself available to me when I have needed her and has tried her utmost to make the 'admin' part of my pregnancies as easy and stress-free as possible. Louise has always had the answers for me and even the solution. She was with me during my darkest days when I faced a medical termination, physically and emotionally. Nothing has ever been too much for Louise and it is so clear that she works out of hours and I bet she does this willingly, with no extra pay. Most importantly she genuinely listens and responds. When I've had difficult relationships with consultants she has stepped in and acted as my advocate, offered emotional support, and again where possible, tried to minimise the stress that this also brings. Her knowledge and expertise shine through and her ability to talk in layman's terms is exemplary. She is skilled at calming patients down and putting things into perspective and rationalising everything. I cannot praise this lady enough - it is too much of a task. The UHCW would be lost without her - she is an all-rounded skilled midwife that couldn't be better.
