Sometimes, someone is just the right person at the right time in the right place. A patient's family recently felt that way about Sara, RN, on 6West. Sara cared for their mother who in their words, "was a difficult patient to care for". Sara was friendly, gentle and supremely kind and allowed the family to feel that they were finally experiencing the care for their mom that they had always been seeking.
The family felt that Sara went above and beyond, always anticipating their needs, providing support, resources, an attentive ear, a shoulder to cry on and an abundance of information. Despite their mother passing away, they felt that Sara made the whole terrible experience as painless as possible by focusing on their mother's comfort and dignity, allowing the family solace and the ability to feel safe and supported in making all of the hard decisions expected of the family.
