Nancy was nominated by a staff member that she works with daily. She describes a situation where Nancy's critical thinking skills saved a patient's life. While following up with a patient that had recently been given the green light to go home, the symptoms that the patient was currently having worried Nancy. By doing a complete assessment of the patient she was able to determine that it was medication related and that the consequence of continuing the medication would be serious. She ensured that someone went to visit the patient in his home and set up monitoring for the next two days. Nancy's knowledge and commitment to ensure excellent patient care ensured a positive outcome and health care journey for this patient. Nancy consistently goes above and beyond when helping patients recover from surgery. Congratulations Nancy and keep making a difference in patients' lives.
