Sally O'Connell gave me invaluable support throughout my pregnancy and during my labour. I would also like to say that my contact with other midwives within the home birth team has been extremely positive and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to have support from this team.
Sally delivered my third baby and the difference between this birth in comparison to my previous two was huge. This is very significant for me as I am still receiving trauma counselling following my second birth more than two years ago due to the difficulties I experienced. This past experience made me very nervous throughout this third pregnancy, especially with regards to the upcoming labour. Sally's approach made me feel relaxed during labour and I found her very approachable during my pregnancy when I have felt anxious.
As a result, my mental health following this delivery has been stable (unlike my second labour) and sally's role in this through her support during pregnancy and labour has allowed me to enjoy these early days with my newborn.
