I am a 43-year- old, patient who has been treated with kidney disease for eight years and hemodialysis for 10 years. Hemodialysis keeps people like me alive, but meanwhile we also experience torture and pain which seem impossible physically and mentally to the ordinary person. The people by my side, who help me forget the pain of suffering and keep me living with a smile, are my family, friends, and especially the nurses who are always smiling, caring and responsible. Today I nominate Nurse Wang Wenjuan for the DAISY Award.
Ms Wang helps hemodialysis patients with anything without hesitation. My health insurance provider denied my claim, when I relocated, reimbursement ratio for day hemodialysis in Hangzhou. The charge service was wrong. Even though I went to the office several times, the problem was not fixed. Then Ms Wang became aware of the situation, and she went to different departments to figure out the right process. Finally, my payment was straightened out, saving me money! Staff in the medical approval office asked Ms. Wang if I were one of her family members as she did so much for me. She truthfully answered that I was one of her patients.
Sometimes the outpatient charge system does not work well, and we patients get double billed. It was Ms. Wang who got us a refund. Last winter, the quilts used during hemodialysis were smelly, which made us feel sick. Ms Wang negotiated with relevant departments to solve the problem and gave us a better environment. Ms. Wang is a leader on the hemodialysis nursing team and these nurses provide us care with smile and love. I want to thank the nurses! They are the loveliest people!
