Zhang Xinqin is a good nurse, who works in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH) Outpatient Department (OPD). She is enthusiastic and friendly, and always smiles and answers patients' questions with tact and accuracy.
Xinqin cares for elderly patients, provides necessary help and arranges priority visits for them. At the same time, she can take charge when necessary. One busy afternoon, the patients were crowded in the waiting area, milling about almost out of order. Xinqin came as soon as possible and calmed the patients down. On another day, a patient with hyperglycemia came in without family to accompany her. This woman needed to get an insulin shot in the Emergency Department (ED). The patient was illiterate and could not understand Mandarin as she spoke only her village dialect. Xinqin volunteered to take the patient to ED for treatment, called her family and stayed with the patient until her family came.
Xinqin also cares for colleagues. In January a heavy snow came during the flu season. I worked at the Fever Clinic at that time. One day, the heating system was out-of-service and the Clinic got so cold. I put on all the clothes available and still kept working to give care to visiting patients. Xinqin called the Maintenance Center and made sure they fixed the heating system as soon as possible. I truly appreciated what she did for all of us to have a good work environment.
Our doctors also appreciate Xinqin for her leading the nursing team to keep the OPD clean and organized with warm and bright consulting rooms.
In short, Xinqin is a good nurse and we all love her!
