The moment my husband and I met Analie, we recognised a very special person. We were nervous and didn't know what to expect. A had a tumour on his liver. Analie met us in the waiting room and she immediately made us feel at ease. She explained who we would be seeing, and she remained with us during the consultation with the doctor. We met her again on procedure day; again Analie was outstandingly professional, with her perfect mix of practical nursing care, kindness, and leadership skills. Throughout the procedure, she stayed in touch with me to let me know how A was getting on, and called up to see us in Recovery to find out what we're feeling. The procedure had not been successful this first time, so all of the above was repeated a second time 2 weeks later. Analie seemed always to be at work, and always there, with her quiet but cheerful approach. We really appreciated her familiar face, and total reliability, great communication skills, patience, and knowledge. Analie is a shining example to us all, and a credit to the profession, to UCLH and to the NHS. She is a DAISY Nurse for her dedication to her patients and for giving the most important thing of all- hope!
