In the middle of the patients' cries, suffering and calls for help, there is a small light or ray of hope that is brought upon by a smile and a healing touch of a nurse. Through her smile, she makes our worries and sorrows lighter. Jonalyn brightens a day of a patient who is in pain and discomfort.
My mother was admitted to Sultan City for a total knee replacement and right after her surgery, she was in a lot of pain. One night, the unit was busy and all nurses were attending to their patients. There was one nurse who is always with us; attending to my mother's needs. She is like an angel who came to us to ease my mother's pain. She helped my mother to be comfortable and catered to her calls. Without complaining, she takes good care of all the other patients she is handling. I saw her compassion towards her patients and her great skills in doing her tasks. I cannot think of how she managed all the calls of all her patients. She showed great patience and compassion.
I saw in her eyes that she might be tired but I never heard her complain. She even smiles and goes further by asking if we need anything. I have never seen such kindness and love. She treats my mother not as a patient but a person, a person who is suffering and in need of care. Her care comes out of her heart. I have no words for her but thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
