Every day, nurses are deemed to carry on their routines, starting from receiving handover, assisting physicians during procedures, administering medications, monitoring patients, educating patients and their families, and other related tasks. In caregiving, it's not just merely providing care to clients but with compassion that matters most and that's what we call an extraordinary, going far beyond and above.
In my professional capacity, I would like to recognize Genelyn Estandarte. I consider her as an extraordinary staff nurse for her known dedication, kindness, and compassion towards her clients and to all the staff too. In my whole stay here in this institution, I humbly express my admiration towards her for her countless ways of touching each client's lives under her care. I witnessed how she tenderly cared for her clients, especially the bedbound patients unable to move by themselves, despite her difficulties literally in her hands (got fractured and operated), the pain and numbness that she felt in it. Genelyn works so hard with diligence not even complaining though it's obviously seen that she's being hard up, sometimes I see her on the verge of tears. This shows that she never puts her own welfare above that of her clients. She renders her service selflessly.
Genelyn not only passionately cares for her patients but also her colleagues. She has a strong conviction for helping others. She is the first to be around in the unit yet the last to go home ensuring that everything is done well and not leaving an uncompleted task for the next shift. I salute her for her consistent dedication, could it be being charge, a staff or even an acting head nurse.
