It is every parent's nightmare to have a child in the hospital. For our family, it was 10 long months. However, from the beginning, Alexandra made a very difficult situation for us much better. She is a true example of what every nurse should be, hard-working, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Alex made each shift fun for our daughter, from giving her a "spa bath" to finding a way to take her out of the room for a walk. Regardless of how busy her day was, she took the time to explain things to us. When we were scared, she supported us, when we needed to talk she gave us her ears. She advocated for our baby when we didn't have the words. Our daughter earned many bravery beads, but no matter how painful the day was, Alex was always able to make her smile. She touched our hearts and our lives forever. For these reasons, she is a true DAISY Nurse.

Words will never be able to adequately express how thankful we are to have had Alexandra as our nurse. She went above and beyond in caring for our daughter. Every action she did with such love, from singing to our daughter to make her feel better when she was getting shots, to picking out a cute outfit for her to wear. Often, she would remind us to take care of ourselves and offer to stay with our baby while we grabbed coffee or lunch. We would return to find her reading a story, or giving our little girl a bath. Alexandra allowed us to feel at ease and made being at the hospital more enjoyable for our family. When there were times of fear she gave us hope with her knowledge and expertise. She is the nurse every parent hopes to have look after their child. If I were sick, I would want her to look after me too! Her healing hands, humble attitude, and compassionate heart truly allowed us to pick up the broken pieces and fit them back together again. Thank you so much for everything you did for our family Alexandra!

Alexandra made our family feel whole again by the love and care she provided to my granddaughter. She always kept the parents informed and explained when the doctor's words seemed a little too intricate. No matter how many questions we had she answered them all. She suggested places to eat close by and explained some hospital resources that would be beneficial. She normalized hospital life by making little moments special (like celebrating her first tooth). For my granddaughter, she brought a smile to her face every time they were in the same room. It was as if they were life long friends. Alexandra always did developmental stuff with her. She is the star that helped our granddaughter shine! When we would visit and Alexandra was her nurse we all immediately had a sense of calm - our anxieties went away. Mainly, she gave our family the strength to get through this difficult situation. The strength we never knew we had. We are so blessed to have had her as our granddaughter's nurse.
