I cannot express enough how amazing Alexis is as a nurse. She's made such a huge impact on my life that when she's off work my days aren't as special. I love the passion, care, concern, and loyalty she brings when she enters my room. I've come across a lot of nurses over my lifetime and I've never met one like her. You can see she chose Nursing because she cares. I've never received better care anywhere in my life. Because of Alexis, my outlook has totally changed. She's helped me to see a lot of things differently. She brings me out into the halls for a change of scenery. She came to rub my back and tell me everything was going to be OK when I was down and brought me all the ice packs and heat packs when I was in pain. She even searched every hospital floor to try to find food I could keep down. She is my hero. I want Alexis to receive this award so that I can give something back to her in return because she needs to know just how amazing she really is. Nothing I do will begin to amount to what she has done, but this is close.
