Mary Anne is caring, supportive, and understanding while being a role model for her team. She is always available for guidance and encourages new ideas and creative thinking.
Mary Anne is one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. As a director, she promotes work-life balance and has been extremely approachable if you have any concerns work-related or personal. She is an incredible resource person for me and she always makes time for you, no matter how busy she is. She prioritizes the needs of the staff and always aims to provide them with the tools they need to succeed. As an educator, when we work the weekend by ourselves she calls in to make sure that we are doing okay and to see if we need anything. I consider Mary Anne a mentor and her leadership skills are amazing.

Mary Anne MA, NPD-BC, RN-BC CCRN Alumnus our fearless Director of Nursing Education, is a selfless, enthusiastic, and compassionate leader who exemplifies every characteristic of a DAISY Nurse Leader. Mary Anne goes above and beyond for her colleagues, team and each person she comes in contact with. Whether she is giving words of encouragement in person or answering your email in her signature way, she makes you feel like the most important person at that moment. Throughout our partnership, she has encouraged me, lifted me up, and made me feel like anything was possible. Having entered a new position, which was completely different from my previous role, she encouraged me to shoot for the stars and helped me to see what I was capable of. My favorite things about Mary Anne are her endless devotion to mentorship, her kindness to all, and her warm-hearted spirit. She creates an environment of meaningful mentorship and takes everyone "under her wing". You can go to her with anything, at any time, and she welcomes you with open arms. She oversees numerous programs, projects, and people. No matter how busy she is, she always takes the time to celebrate her team with her signature parties, which include a thoughtful theme and cinnamon coffee. Mary Anne was born to be a nurse and we are so blessed to have her here at NSUH!
