My call with Becky lasted for a long time, over hours, and in all that time she was calm but firm and very informative. Becky, I can't thank you enough for giving my dad the extra weeks at home with us.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, lung cancer, and at the beginning of 2020 was told that the treatment was no longer working and was given 3 months to 1 year to live. Unfortunately, my dad deteriorated faster than expected and was in and out of hospital (oncology) a lot over this time. Dad really took a turn and was rushed back into the hospital. He was then discharged 2 days later. When we got him home and out of the car my dad collapsed on me. We could ring a number to get through to Oncology and I got through to Becky. Wow, just wow, I can't thank Becky enough, Becky was amazing. She managed to calm me down long enough to explain to me that Dad needed to be back in the hospital and that Dad was in fact very sick. My call with Becky lasted for a long time, over hours, and in all that time she was calm but firm and very informative. Becky, I can't thank you enough for giving my dad the extra weeks at home with us. He sadly lost his battle and passed on at home with his beloved wife.
Please, please, please, don't just think it was just a phone call because it wasn't. You took the time to talk me through everything. You took the time to calm me down and make sure not only Dad was ok but I and mum were ok. You took the time to just listen to me, YOU TOOK THE TIME, and time is so important.
