Rob is the sweetest, most kind-hearted, and gentle soul. He spoke to my daughter as if she was his own child with such optimism all while maintaining a calm demeanor.
My daughter, was admitted into the PICU and has had quite an extensive stay with health issues arising from bacterial pneumonia (which she was originally admitted for) and then ASD (atrial septal defect), and then her lungs weren't responding to treatments well and she was having a hard time oxygenating, so she was placed on ECMO. Rob was the ECMO nurse and we've had many interactions with him. He's the sweetest, most kind-hearted, and gentle soul. He spoke to my daughter as if she was his own child with such optimism all while maintaining a calm demeanor. Thankfully my daughter was taken off of ECMO, but I attribute some of her success to Rob's soft tone and encouraging words along the way. He was my daughter's biggest advocate of getting her off ECMO, and I know she did so well while on it because of the way Rob would speak to her with such positivity and uplifting words. My daughter has always responded well to those that are supportive and genuine and that describes Rob wholeheartedly. I can't thank him enough for being such an amazing nurse. He even came to check on her days after she was taken off of ECMO, and said he planned to again once she was extubated. It's nurses like Rob, that make the stay in the PICU seem less scary and make you feel more comfortable. I hope Rob realizes just how much his devotion and compassion meant to us as parents and to our daughter.
