I am a nurse practitioner with the CT surgery group. I just wanted to reach out to you regarding your employee Danette Turner. Danette does a great job to coordinate all the care teams and move patient care forward. My daily routine includes reading her notes in the chart to see where we were in the process of getting the patient home or what was missing and delaying the process. While she was gone, there was a major difference! Danette also goes out of her way every day to come by the office and have face to face conversations about the patients to let us know what things are needed for our service to help move the patients forward. She is a great communicator! More than once she has responded to Voaltes or called me after she has left work for the day. She is extremely dedicated and frequently goes above and beyond.
One of the ways that Danette has shown her exceptional practice is through this example. Recently, I had a patient who was hospitalized for heart problems. The patient was waiting to find out if they were going to have surgery or be taken to the cath lab for a procedure instead. Both the patient and family were very anxious about the plan of care as it was still undecided. I reached out to Danette for information via Voalte on a Friday evening regarding his case as she helps to coordinate care. While leaving the unit, another nurse mentioned Danette had gone home for the day. I thought I would not hear anything until Monday, but to my surprise, Danette answered my message and told me to call her. Not only did she have the information I needed, but she told me I could always reach out to her as she follows patients even when she is off. I have never met someone so dedicated to her job and her patients.
Recently, Danette was off for a few days... and boy did I miss her. Danette does a great job coordinating all members of the care team to help move patients forward. TGH would not be the same without her. I believe I speak for the entire CT surgery team when I say, we are extremely grateful for Danette.
