Ann truly exemplifies what I believe to be a super nurse, constantly advocating for her patient while also supporting her peers.
Ann Wells is the primary nurse for a very special patient in the BMT unit. She is an extraordinary patient advocate for this very ill patient, providing the most loving care, yet somehow maintaining clear boundaries at the same time. Ann comes to the OR every Wednesday with the patient's primary to complete her bath and change all her dressings as this is too painful to do without anesthesia. She will stop at nothing to make sure the patient is well cared for and safe. She has learned all about the OR and PACU in order to ensure we are all comfortable with her and that she can do what is best for the patient.
Ann truly exemplifies what I believe to be a super nurse, constantly advocating for her patient while also supporting her peers who struggle with the difficulty of caring for the patient. I know she is involved in other initiatives at CHOA, including being a behavioral health trainer, but I only know her from the amazing work she does with her very special patient. I applaud her for being the amazing person she is.
