Kira was Amazing! Our daughter L was in the hospital for 25 days with multiple complications from ruptured appendicitis. It was really tough. Kira was kind, funny, compassionate, warm, and thoughtful. She even sent a message down to L in the ICU when we had moved for a few days and she came back on shift to hear we were downstairs.
One of my favorite moments, when L was so emotionally fragile and just very frustrated with her sheets, was when Kira simply said, "Well that's unacceptable, I'm going to fix that for you!" Seeing L actually smile at that moment was a small miracle.
While we were looking forward to discharge every day, we were still always thrilled to have Kira come back as our overnight nurse. She routinely comforted us parents as well. When we first got admitted I hadn't eaten in ages and she went out of her way to make sure I had snacks. I can't thank her enough and will never forget what a big difference she made in getting us through the toughest time our family has had. I'm so happy she made it into L's quotes-of-the-day journal.
