Alexis offered to sit with my dad while he said the rosary and that's what they did! You have no idea what that did for me and my siblings.
My dad was admitted to Marymount Hospital with pneumonia and COVID+. As you can imagine this was such a scary and upsetting time for my siblings and myself. From the moment I first talked to his nurse, Alexis, I felt so comforted. She gave me such a comprehensive report as to what was going on with my dad at the moment and what the plan was going to be. She also took the time to ask me numerous questions about my dad to find out who he is as a person - not the confused (so not his norm!) COVID+ patient, she was taking care of.
Alexis told me she noticed the college ring he was wearing so she asked him questions about his college days, plus she figured he was in WW II, so they talked about that. From talking to me, she found out that my dad is a very strong Catholic so she found the religious channel and asked my dad if he would like that station turned on. All of this alone was such a comfort to me and my siblings!
But to top it off, when I talked to Alexis the following day after my dad was admitted, I mentioned that my dad prays a daily rosary. After we talked she went and offered to sit with my dad while he said the rosary and that's what they did! You have no idea what that did for me and my siblings. It is truly remarkable what an awesome nurse Alexis is. I cannot believe my dad is the only patient she treats like this - she has to do this with all of her patients.
