With every admission, every day that my daughter has her beloved nurse Maggie, she is extra extra, and this means a lot to mom as well, during these long and stressful hospital stays. I can rest assured that every I will be dotted, and every T will be crossed. This time Maggie did her best to see that my daughter got her PICC line when she was already going to be in the OR. The next day it seemed we still needed to use the very old IV as well! But then we had Maggie again and she went the extra mile to talk to the Pharmacist and figure out the way to make everything work with the PICC alone! We love our nurses! And Maggie is the cream of the crop!

Maggie had already left for the day when she thought of a way my daughter could be spared some pain and anxiety; by doing a necessary but uncomfortable procedure in which she was going to be under general anesthesia the next day for something else. I am still so touched by her compassion and thoughtfulness; that after a 12-hour shift she was still thinking of ways to help my daughter and took the time and effort to make that call.
My daughter has consistently received excellent care from many of the CHLA supporters and Maggie truly exemplified the stellar reputation of CHLA nurses. If I could, I would shower you all with bouquets of roses for saving my daughter's life truly being a second home and family to us both.
