Wow! What can I say about Robert that you already don't know? When he walked into my room his beautiful spirit filled the room and immediately put me at ease. Robert saw that I was having a hard time and his compassion and positivity and obvious love for his patients is quite evident. One of the first things he said to me was how we were going to have a great night and he kept his word. But the best was yet to come.
Wednesday was one of the worst days I've had since losing my Dad 10 months ago. Robert was able to organically pick up on my state of mind and once again brought my spirits up. Early morning he walked past my room and heard me crying. Now he could have easily just kept walking but instead, Robert came into my room and very softly asked me how I was doing. Being that he already knew why I was upset, he still talked to me with his positive spirit.
Robert is also so dedicated to his career and I was impressed with his efficiency. I was so shocked to hear how new he is as a nurse and immediately told him he has an amazing career ahead of him and to never lose his compassion.
During morning shift change, charge nurse L was in my room. As Robert came in to ask me a question L pointed out to him how proud she is with his work! I immediately started clapping because I had just told him he has an amazing future in nursing! What perfect timing. Even L told me how much she believes in him and his future!
