Jessica is a born leader. She sees a problem as an opportunity. She puts patient care first and is always finding new research and innovative solutions to issues that arise on the floor to improve care and results. Jessica has taken on unit council as an opportunity to bring staff together to work on issues as a team. Most recently we were trying to figure out a way to improve RN communication and rounding for our critical care step-down patients. Jess came up with a positive way to make this happen and communication has improved. As doctors arrive at the unit, they now stop at the desk and have the RNs paged to the rooms to attend rounds. This is greatly improving communication and RN/MD work relationships. Above all her "can-do attitude" and "we can look at it and figure out a solution" make her a DAISY Nurse and so much more. Upon returning from Magnet Conference Jess came back and informed us of all the fabulous things we are doing and how we can continue to strive and thrive. Thank you Jess for having a positive impact on work every day in so many ways. Jess also coordinates our Holiday adopt a family for the last few years and families have benefitted during the holidays. She coordinates our floor get-togethers to keep spirits up and build camaraderie. She's an invaluable member of our staff and patients.
