Lynz is a nurse on SCU which is currently the special isolation unit for the hospital. In the middle of a pandemic, while many resources are spent on COVID patients, she has gone above and beyond for our trauma and burn patients. She is caring, supportive, and an advocate for her patients. She goes above and beyond to make sure they receive the care they need. For example, acute burn patients require close monitoring and intensive dressing changes. One particular patient required extensive burn dressing change on the floor. Lynz prepped the procedure room with all necessary supplies, took the time to get everything needed for the patient's comfort, coordinated with child life, advocated for pain management, and organized interpreter services for the upset mother. Lynz is the reason the dressing change went so well and both the patient and our burn NPs are lucky she was there that day. This is just one example of working with Lynz.
